The Tang Dynasty Ming Palace is the largest and most luxurious palace group among the three palace groups in Chang an City. It drew on the dragon head of the Forbidden Garden in the north of the city, and looked at the south Qianfeng Peak on it , and overlooked the streets of Jingchengfang City. So, why was it built on a tall dragon head, and why did it use the name Daming Eryu?

When Li Yuan and Li Shimin first established the Tang Dynasty, there was only the Taiji Palace in Chang an. And this Taiji Palace was not newly built in the Tang Dynasty, but was old in the Sui Dynasty. After Li Yuan became the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty, he wanted to open a new luxurious palace, in order to enjoy the peace in the world. However, due to the persuasion of Li Shimin and the wise men, he had to give up. Later, Qin King Li Shimin became emperor for Emperor Taizong. He respected Li Yuan as emperor and spent his old age in the palace. This Li Yuan is a mediocre and avid person. He was not satisfied with the pleasures in Tai Chi Palace, because he thought the Tai Chi Palace was low in the ground, wet in the autumn, and hot in the summer. Deeply regretted that when he was on the throne that day, he did not immediately build one or two magnificent palaces. Seeing his father unhappy, Taizong also asked his father if he had any discomfort and requirements, but Li Yuan k ept silent. Emperor Tang Taizong was too busy to deal with state affairs, so he did not delve into this matter. Soon, Li Yuan finally became depressed and Taizong was anxious, but asked his father that Li Yuan still didnt speak. He had to ask his mother, Mother Dou, who was a reasonable person. Although she said what Li Yuan s “heart disease” was, But he also advised his son not to use the funds of the treasury to set up another palace room , let his son deal with the affairs of the court with all his heart and mind, and leave the matter of persuading and conditioning Li Yuan to himself. But this time Taizong didn t dare to take it lightly. He descended and used his private savings to build a temporary summer house for his father in Gaofu, the head of the dragon head of Chengbei, and called it Yong an Palace. Able to recover from dragon body and enjoy happiness forever.

Who knew that Li Yuan had just died shortly after the ground was broken. Taizong thought: Since his father couldn t live, let his mother live, so the Yong an Palace could continue to be built.

On this day, the artisans were digging the foundation of the hall. Suddenly, a dazzling golden light was released underground. The artisans did not dare to dig any more, so they reported to Taizong. Taizong came to the construction site, and ordered the artisans to continue digging, digging, digging, and suddenly saw something shining and dazzling. It turned out that a huge bronze mirror 1 was dug out. Inch, four feet wide, face like the sun, glittering, back like the moon, clear glory can be seen, the pattern around is simple, and the dust is not touched. After seeing it, Taizong could not recognize the treasure of the generation, so he humbly consulted the accompanying officials such as Fang Xuanling and Wei Zheng. Wei Zheng instructed Fang Xuanling to speak first, and Fang Xuanling asked Wei Zhengxian to say that Taizong saw that his two brave ministers were playing a mystery, and then he said: Please Wei Aiqing first talk, Fang Aiqing added, how?

It turned out that this treasure mirror is the famous Qin mirror, which has been treasured in the Xianyang Palace of Qin Shihuang. It has a singularity. If you look into the mirror from the opposite side, it reflects the reflection of people. If you touch your chest with your hands, you can see the internal organs of the body. The image is very clear and visible. More importantly, it can reflect the loyalty of his subordinates, and the rise and fall of the National Games … This is indeed a national treasure to discern the authenticity, understand the loyalty, diagnose the disease, and protect the country. But Qin Shihuang only used it to look at the Gong e Cai Nu in the palace, but when he saw the heart- warming people , they were all cut off as dissidents. Qin II s Hu Hai was even better than that, killing people like hemp, but left the traitor Zhao Gao, etc., to refer to the deer as a horse, and had the wrong country. So prominent that the Huns, who were also frightened by the Hun, died instantly. When Han Gaozu Liu Bang first occupied Qin Capital Xianyang, Xiao He persuaded him to close all the palaces, including Xianyang Palace, Afang Palace, gold and silver treasures, children Jade, Zhongding, and dogs and horses. They should only take away all the book scrolls, Then there is Qin Jing, the treasure of the town. Thanks to this precious mirror, Han Yu can continue for hundreds of years! At the end of the Han Dynasty, the heroes were fighting for hegemony. Qin Jing did not know where he lived? Who knew that hundreds of years later, he was born again on Longshouyuan!

He said that here, Wei Zheng deeply worshiped Taizong, and He Xi said, The birth of Qin Mirror today indicates the everlasting evergreen of the Tang Dynasty.

After hearing Taizong, he pushed away the two Qin mirrors carried by his inner servant and said, Why do you want this mirror? I have already got a bright mirror that is thousands times better than Qin mirror!

Taizong said positively: The husband takes bronze as a mirror, he can dress the crown, and ancient as a mirror, he can know the pros and cons, and people as a mirror, he can understand the gains and losses. Is n t that a dangling miracle! In order to remember the meeting of the mirrors of today s monarchs and ministers, 朕 specially changed this Yongan Palace to Daming Palace! ”

After the construction of the Daming Palace, Taizong really took Qin Jing as the treasure of the town palace, making it a truly Daming palace. Shi an Chang an said: Every night I see the bright factory in the Daming Palace on Long Shouyuan as bright as daylight. But Taizong never moved to the Daming Palace to live in, he has been in the Tai Chi Palace, relying on Assisted by wise men such as Wei Zheng of the Mirror, created a good situation of rule of chastity.

Later, Tai Zong s son Li Zhi ascended the throne for Tang Gaozong. This is a cowardly emperor who is both weak and incompetent. He surrendered the government to Empress Wu Zetian to handle it, hiding himself in the deep palace for fun. He excuses Taiji Temple for its low-lying and wet terrain, which caused him to suffer from wind-induced paralysis, and he rebuilt and rebuilt Daming Palace, which was the extension of the dragon head. Where did the money come from? He was reluctant to dig out his own pocket and decided to exploit it from the people and ministers to raise huge sums of money to rebuild the Daming Palace. He levied taxes on people in 15 states including Shaanxi and Shanxi, and deducted one month s salary from all civil and military officials in Beijing to rebuild the Daming Palace. He enlisted skilled craftsmen and tens of thousands of minionmen in the country to work day and night. I dont know how many minion craftsmen were whipped and exhausted. Finally, within a tigh t period of two years, the reconstruction and expansion of a fifteen-mile circumference Twenty-one doors, twenty-four palaces, a large number of pavilions and pavilions, and a luxurious and huge palace complex called the Penglai Pool. He suspected that the word Daming had satire on himself, so he changed the Daming Palace to Penglai Palace. Then moved in and stayed. After he moved into the 46 Penglai Palace, like a fish, he spent the whole day playing in the Penglai pool and ritualizing Buddha on Penglai Island.

One day, he suddenly remembered the Qin Jing, and went to see it in the Tibetan mirror building, to see if he could take pictures of the palace ladies for fun. Who knows, searched the entire Tibetan mirror building, and even the entire Penglai Palace. There are traces of Qin Jing! He was so angry that he arrested the eunuch who guarded the mirror and tortured him severely. The eunuch scratched his head and said, From the day the emperor Yukou changed the Daming Palace to the Penglai Palace , Qin Jing flew away! Gao Zong s eyes widened in horror after listening. Soon, he became blind and blind.

Although Gaozong Li Zhiyu made a golden statement and changed the Daming Palace to Penglai Palace, his later emperors of the Tang Dynasty still called the Daming Palace to be the Daming Palace. The name Penglai Palace is rarely known.
