Confucius Temple [Nanjing, Jiangsu]

The Confucius Temple was originally built in Song Dynasty, located south of the city center, beside Gongyuan Street on the north bank of the Qinhuai River. It is a bustling and bustling city evolved from the cultural and educational center. Its main body is Shanmianchi (accompaniment pond), the outer ring of the Wanxian palace wall, and the east and the west carved by the East and West gates are the handwriting of Zeng Guofan. The main gate is called Xingxingmen, followed by Dacheng Gate. Crossing the Dacheng Gate to the Dacheng Hall is a place dedicated to Confucius. There are a side hall and a pr omenade. From now on, it is the Chongsheng Temple, with a tall structure. After the Chongsheng Temple, the mountain is ruled. Gu Tinglin feeds on the mountain. There is a pavilion on the top of the mountain, overlooking the magnificent posture of Zhongshan, and overlooking the Confucius Temple. Jiangning House was built in the east of Confucius Temple in the late Qing Dynasty, and most of the buildings have been destroyed.

The Lantern Festival in Confucius Temple is held here from the first to the eighteenth day of the first lunar month. In 1985, the Nanjing Municipal Government restored the ancient building complex of Confucius Temple. The appearance of the Confucius Temple area has also been rebuilt. Many shops, restaurants, and snack bars have been converted into Ming and Qing style. The Gongyuan Street near the river has been transformed into an antique tourism and cultural business street.
