Baita Mountain Park [Lanzhou, Gansu]

Baita Mountain Park is located on Baita Mountain on the northern bank of the Yellow River in Lanzhou. Baita Mountain is soaring and undulating, it is bounded by the suburbs, and it has the potential to embrace Jincheng.

The Babai Pagoda was originally built to commemorate a Tibetan Sakya sect who died in Lanzhou when he saw Genghis Khan in Mongolia. During the Ming Jingtai years (1450-1456) of the existing White Pagoda Department, Liu Yongcheng, the internal supervisor of Gansu, was rebuilt. In the 54th year of Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1715), the governor Chuo Qi supplemented the old and added new ones, expanded the temple site, and named it Cien Temple.

The Baita Pagoda is seven levels and eight sides wide, about 17 meters high, with a round base underneath, a green top, carved statues of Buddha on each side, and iron horse bells on the eaves. The outside of the tower is painted with white slurry, such as white jade. Baita Mountain was established as a park in 1958, with a total construction area of more than 8,000 square meters. It is divided into three building groups, built next to the mountain, with red eaves and red pillars. The buildings are connected by pavilions and corridors in all directions. The original elephant drum, bronze bell, and bauhinia tree on the mountain were called Zhenshan Three Treasures in the ancient times. Now the bauhinia tree is dead.

After years of greening, Baita Mountain has high trees and dense forests, and its winding paths are secluded. The unique Yellow River Kistler Museum in the three main halls of the park is rich in unique stones. At the foot of the mountain is the Zhongshan Bridge. The two have been connected into one, which has become a must-visit place for Lanzhou tourism.
