Bishops in Cameroon call on Government to Investigate the killings in the North West and South West Regions

The Bishops of Cameroon have called on the government to investigate the ongoing killing in the North West and South West Regions of the country,

In a three page correspondence after the Standing Committee of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, summed up in 13 points last Tuesday August 7, the Bishops express their worries over the escalation of the crisis, that has seen many people desert their villages, seeking refuge in the bushes or in nearby Nigeria.

They condemned the killings in the Regions, and pointed out the growing insecurities around the clergy in the crisis zone, especially the recent killing of Rev. Fr. Alexander Sob of the Buea Diocese, expressing their sympathy to the chief shepherd of the diocese His Lordship Bishop Immanuel Bushu.

They urged Christians to intensify their prayers, by continuously saying the rosary and visiting the Blessed Sacrament, to implore God's intervention, so that peace and stability can return to our nation.
