'I Had Seen The Finger Of God' - Africa's current Best Movie Director, Best Writer, Best Story Teller and Golden Movie Award Winner Nkanya Nkwai Celebrates birthday with his four recent trophies from Accra - Ghana

Africa's most recent Best Movie Director, Best Writer, Best Story Teller and Golden Movie Award Winner  of the multiple award winning  movie 'A Good Time To Divorce' Cameroonian born Nkanya Nkwai, today July 3rd, 2018 celebrated his birthday, with a message justifying his silence, after his big win in Accra last month at the Golden Movie Awards, where he grabbed four trophies.

The film maker/producer in his message titled ' I'm not a one-many army' explains that the ongoing war in the two English speaking regions of the country, sealed his lips in pains. He appreciated his cast and crew in the movie, and offered gratitude to Gd Almighty, whose Hands Nkanya said He saw at work in his Accra victory, though he was absent.

Read his birthday write up below"
I'M NOT A ONE-MAN ARMY
I did not forget, neither was it a deliberate intent not to present the trophies. I have just been beaten down by the prevailing crisis in our cherished fatherland. I wish the guns and bullets spree, I wish the blood we spill and the lives we destroy easily were replaced by the love of our fatherland and the love of one another which would have been the X-Factor if we would place the nation and its citizens above all so that no self would be bigger than the fatherland. The solution that would make everyone happy, safe and proud should be the advocacy of any compatriot who wants to be a leader of his or her people. Let's fight for love. Let's fight for peace. Let's fight for fatherland.

I had a terrible headache in my hotel room that evening in Douala. I was alone and thought of anything I could do to feel better and make the most out of the evening including returning to Buea. I thought of everything except expecting a win from Accra though our movie had remarkable nominations I felt I was not that good to beat the calibre of movies and filmmakers who I was up against ... as I sat on the bed Alenne Menget who was attending the event went live on Facebook television. At this point of the event they were announcing the category of Best Art Director and it turned out that my brother Anurin Nwunembom A.K.A Roots Art won through our movie A Good Time To Divorce. That was the first win. Then we won in Best Story Drama ( Nkanya Nkwai), Best Writer(Nkanya Nkwai) Best Actor Drama (Alenne Menget), Best Director (Nkanya Nkwai) and Golden Movie (Nkanya Nkwai). I went numb. I wasn't sure if it were the headache or the excitement but I was determined not to pass out. A Good Time To Divorce made in Buea by me who can't afford my rents in time and my colleague; some of the most empoverished and deprived individuals. Made in Anglophone Cameroon. Made in Cameroon imposed itself in a continental competition and brought home almost all of the most coverted titles of the organization, I had seen the finger of God.

Cast and crew of A Good Time To Divorce, CFI, Cameroon Cinema, Cameroon here are your rewards for working hard. All glory to God. To my Executive producers Nicol L Lami Edie and Edie Boris these are the fruits of our hard work. These are our awards. Our win of hope for Cameroon Cinema.

I wish to deddicate these to my family which never stops encouraging and praying for me especially Mr. Mbe AugustineRobert LaRue, to the entire Mbembe people and to all of you friends and well wishers for believing in me.

Thank you

Happy birthday to me
