Reverend Father Williams Neba Of St. Bedes Ashing-Kom Abducted By Unknown Gunmen

Rev. Fr. Williams Neba

A priest of the Roman Catholic Church  of the Christ the King Parish Fuli, in the Belo Division of the North West Region, was abducted in the wee hours of yesterday Monday 30th April 2018 by unknown gunmen.

Reverend Fr. Williams Neba who is also the Principal of St. Bedes College Ashing-Kom was in the school chapel, preparing for morning mass when four armed gunmen bashed in, cuffed him and took him alongside with Rev. Fr. Valentine Tatah, who was released out of the church premises.

Fr. Williams who is in an unknown location, called his superiors shortly after his abduction, to inform them he was fine.

His kidnappers are demanding the total shut down of St. Bedes College, which is fully operational despite the ongoing going anglophone crisis that has kept most school doors in the two English speaking regions shut.

This is the first time a clergy is abducted since the start of the crisis in 2016.
