Céline Dion cancels Las Vegas shows for ear surgery

Céline Dion has cancelled several Las Vegas concert dates to undergo surgery for an ear condition.
The singer has a Patulous Eustachian tube, a condition in which the ear’s Eustachian tube, which is normally closed, opens and closes intermittently, causing hearing and singing difficulties.
She has been experiencing this condition for the past 12-18 months but it has been successfully treated with various ear drop medications,” Dion’s team announced on Facebook Wednesday night. “During the past couple of weeks these medications have no longer been working to treat the condition, so she will undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure to correct the problem.”

Dion, 49, said in a statement, “My luck hasn’t been very good lately… I’ve been so looking forward to doing my shows again and this happens … I just can’t believe it! I apologize to everyone who planned to travel to Las Vegas to see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I’m so sorry.”
Dion’s performances at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace from March 27 to April 18 have been canceled; she is expected to resume her shows on May 22.
The “My Heart Will Go On” crooner was forced to bail on two concerts in January due to throat inflammation.
