"The DO of Batibo is not dead. Those announcing his death should show the body." Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary Challenges Social Media

The Minister of Communication and mouth piece of the Cameroon government Issa Tchiroma Bakary has refuted allegations that the Divisional Officer of Batibo, Marcel Namata Diteng. who was kidnapped yesterday on his way to the 11th February ceremonial ground in Batibo has been killed.

Contacted on phone today Monday Feb. 12 by Cameroon-Info.Net, Tchiroma confirmed the abduction, and the search effort. "Two things are clear. It is true that the DO was abducted. Secondly, Security Forces were mobilized as soon as the alarm of his abduction sounded. The search team is still searching for the whereabouts of the DO ."

According to the Minister, everything that people are saying concerning the death of the DO is 'literature', as he challenged those announcing his death on social media to present his body. "The SDO is not dead." He concluded.

Marcel Namata Diteng, the Divisional Officer for Batibo was abducted by unknown men yesterday Sunday 11th February 2018, and till now, no official information has been made on his whereabouts. His car was found hours after his abduction burned to ashes, and a photo of him struggling to smoke cigarette, flooded social Media. Hours later the photo of a dead man took over, insinuating he had been killed.

However, no one including Tchiroma, can confirm if he is actually dead or still alive, and his kidnappers have not made any demands yet.
