President Paul Biya Appoints 77 Years Old Retired Magistrate Atangana Clement As President of the Constitutional Council And CPDM CC Members As Members Of The Council.

President Paul Biya today Wednesday February 7th, 2018 signed a decree appointing Mr. Atangana Clement, a 77 years old retired Judge, to the position of the President of the Constitutional Council.

A similar decree was equally signed alongside, appointing members of the said Council who are no other than members of the ruling CPDM party, and retired men from his government. They are:


  • Foumane Akame Jean (Member of the CPDM Central Committee and Legal Adviser of the President of the Republic)
  • Bonde Emmanuel (Member of the CPDM Central Committee and former Minister)
  • Lekene Donfack (Member of the CPDM Central Committee and former Minister)
  • Ahmadou Tidjani (Member of the CPDM Central Committee and former Governor of the Far North Region)
  • Baskouda Jean Baptiste (Member of the CPDM Central Committee and former Minister)
  • BipounWoum Joseph Marie (Former Minister)
  • Essombe Emile (State Counsel General at the Court of Appeal in the South West Region)
  • Bah Oumarou Sanda (Cameroon Ambassador to Chad)
  • Mme Florence Rita Arrey (Technical Adviser to the Minister of Justice)
  • Paul Chosy Nkui
