Gendarme Officer On Mission To Bamenda Dies In A Road Accident In Bafoussam

A Gendarme whose name we got as Modeste Mbosso, and who is one of government's many military on mission to the Anglophone crisis regions met with his untimely death in a motor accident yesterday Wednesday, January 3rd 2018, in Bafoussam precisely at Carrefour Dschang.

Sources say a tanker truck lost its brakes,  and ran over two pedestrians, among who was the Gendarme Officer Modeste Mbosso, who is part of the troops  in-charged of controlling and harassing vehicles at the entrance of Bamenda.

"He was sitting in front of a house, not far from the road, waiting for a vehicle to transport him to his job side, when he saw the tanker-truck that had totally lost control running towards him. He tried to dodge from the danger, but unfortunately, it was too late. He was crushed under the heavy weight of the truck." An eyewitness reported

The National Gendarmerie has lost dozens of its elements since the start of the anglophone crisis some 14 months ago. Majority of them died in the battlefield, while others died in unfortunate instances like Modest Mbosso.
