Government Bans SDF's Solidarity March Of Oct. 21st 2017 In Douala

The government has banned  SDF's manifestation in solidarity with the people of the North West and South West Regions, that was to take place on Saturday Oct. 21st 2017, in Douala.

According to the new release signed today Oct. 19, 2017  by Jean Marie Tchackui, Senior Divisional Officer for Wouri 1, the manifestation which has been termed 'problematic', is a public threat to the security of people and properties.

The administrative decision comes in at a time when the SDF has already activated all its machines to mobilize 50 000 participants, to make the move a memorable one.

This is another form of intimidation and discrimination, as the same SDO who is the banning the manifestation is the one who gave the authorization in the first place. He recently authorized the ruling CPDM to carry out a similar manifestation on Oct. 1, and today he says the opposition cannot get the same benefit.
