Barrister Akere Muna Steps Down As Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ecobank Cameroon Because Of His Political Aspirations

Barrister Akere Muna has stepped down as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ecobank Cameroon, following his shocking announcement speech of yesterday, Sunday Oct. 8, 2017, declaring his intention to run for the 2018 Presidentials in Cameroon.

According to his latest announcement, the Very Fine Senior  Legal Mind said his decision to step down, is to avoid any conflict of interest, and protect the bank(Ecobank Cameroon) from any confusion arising from his decision to run the 2018 Presidential race, which he said is personal.

Barrister Akere Muna however pledged that he will continue reviewing his other international engagements, to ensure that there are no conflicts of interests.

Barrister Akere Tabeng Muna, who once denied having any political aspirations in Cameroon, shocked the world and himself, when he openly announced his decision to challenge President Paul Biya, in the 2018 Presidential race. His political affiliation is still a mystery, but like the famous French saying in Cameroon goes; "impossible n'est pas Camerounaises"/"With Cameroonians nothing is impossible ", we will not be surprise, if his name comes out as a candidate for the ruling CPDM party, because; "impossible n'est pas Camerounaises."
