The 2017/2018 academic school year  effectively kicked off yesterday Sept. 4, 2017, in all 8 French speaking Regions of the country, except for the 2 English speaking Regions, where the people are still not sure whether their children will be safe in school, following heavy military presence, and all the wahalas connected with the ongoing anglophone crisis, but results of the 2016/2017 Baccalaureate examinations have still not been released.

The Baccalaureate Board has not explained to parents and students why the results have not been released or if there is any problem holding back the results.

In July, markers of the Baccalaureate for General Education refused to go for deliberations, after government failed to pay them for the marking session. But Minister Bibehe intervened, and they got their money, deliberated and results were published.

The silence of the Baccalaureate Board is disturbing, as parents do not know what to do or where to start from. Imagine the difficulties students who fail will face regarding late registrations if they are to repeat.

Even those who succeed and want to go the University, will also have to face some difficulties, because of late registration.

Meanwhile rumours from the corridors of the Baccalaureate Board say the results are the worst of all decades, and officials are working and deliberating on considering those who have 8% as a successful, to increase the number of successful candidates.
