An inter-ministerial delegation from Yaounde yesterday Sept. 14th 2015 was in a Press conference to evaluate the works of Mercy Ship experts who are presently in Cameroon on the invitation of President Paul Biya.
During the Press Conference, Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary said not all registered patients will benefit from the surgery.
"I will like to point out that not all eligible persons identified during the selection campaigns will benefit from the surgical care provided by the Mercy Ships operation due to unforeseen circumstances.

These reasons are firstly related to the number of operating rooms available (5 operating rooms in all, for all specialties), in terms of the expected duration of the operation; and secondly, due to the gravity and complexity of certain pathologies which often require several surgical procedures." The Minister said.
However, Minister Mama Fouda on his part clarified that patients who will not be on lucky list will be registered on a waiting list in his ministry, and will be used as a selection base not only for those who would want to give up, but also for other humanitarian medical campaigns regularly organised by the Ministry of Public Health.
