Mission schools in the South West Region have sent students whom they forced to school to please the government home.

Parents were called this morning to come for their children, and school officials say the students can come back after Oct. 1, if they feel SAFE.

Some of the students we spoke to,  said their classes were empty halls during rare lecture days. They said  they were asked not to pay fees, and even some of their teachers refused to come to school from day 1 of the resumption.

"It looks like most of our teachers are on strike. Out of the 8 subjects we have daily, we hardly have two teachers present. We are not doing anything. The school briefs us daily on the happenings out there, especially Friday 22nd protests. They gathered us in the chapel and explained that there was danger outside. Today Sunday, after mass, they assembled us and said we should go home, and that they will only call us back after the 1st of October", one student told us.

Meanwhile parents are migrating their children to other safer regions of the country, ahead of the October 1, 2017 protest.
