Wife Of Sparrow Hawker Marafa Hamidou Yaya Wife Dies In Paris

Wife Of Sparrow Hawker Marafa Hamidou Yaya Wife Dies In Paris

Mme Jeannette Marafa, wife of Cameroon's former Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization Marafa Hamidou Yaya, languishing in the Yaounde Kondengui Central Prison is death.

She died this morning Friday August 25, 2017, in Paris after a protracted illness.

Jeannette Marafa has always been against the arrest of her husband Marafa Hamidou Yaya, that she said is illegal. In 2016, she launched a campaign for the release of her husband, something she died without achieving.

Marafa was arrested on the 16th of April 2012, and was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment  by the Special Criminal Court on September 22nd that same year, for being an 'accomplice in the embezzlement of 24 Billions F CFA' destined for the purchase of the Presidential plane.

In 2016, the Supreme Court reduced his jail terms to 20 years, but his wife rejected the decision, and even cried 'FOUL' to the top of her voice, and since then, has been blowing whistles beyond the national boundaries that her husband is innocent, and that he was being crucified for political reasons.

'We are not thieves, there are many around Mr. Biya and he knows that very well' Marafa Jeannette cried out during  the program 'Le Grand Debat' on Africa No.1.

Her voice was never heard during the reign of her husband, when he was a pal to Paul Biya, but she became very vocal, after his arrest by his own friend, the same Mr. Biya.

Marafa Jeanette is gone back to her Maker, leaving behind her three children, to continue the fight from where she stopped.

With his recent deteriorating health and the death of his wife, we are afraid Marafa will not have the strength to smile again, unless Biya comes to his rescue.

RIP Mme Marafa Jeannette.
