Southern Cameroonians, the population of Buea and the Bakweri community in particular are still in severe pains, following the tragic road accident of Saturday August 19th 2017, at the Muyuka Mile 29 hill, that brutally took away 20 of their own sons and daughters beneath mother earth.
The painful incident has left no one indifferent, as relatives, friends, sympthisers and well wishers continue to pour in their moral support, especially through prayers, for the bereaved families.
It is in this respect that former Prime Minister, His Excellency Peter Mafany Musonge, a son of the Bakweri soil is organising an ecumenical service this day Sunday Aug. 27, 2017, at the Buea Bongo Square, in honour of the victims at 3 P.M.
It should be recalled that the victims were mostly members of the Bakweri traditional choir 'Wana Wa Wonja', returning from the wake keep of one Mrs. Mbake, a retired Basic Education teacher and member of the CPDM in Muyuka.
According to multiple sources, after a spectacular all night animation by the renowned choristers, the team boarded their chattered bus belonging to one of their members Ngombi Emmanuel, driven by Manasseh were heading back to Buea, when a god-forsaken truck lost its brakes at the famous Mile 29 hill, and ran over their bus, killing them all.
