Atia Tilarius Azohnui, journalist with the 'Sun newspaper' and President of the Buea Chapter of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists CAMASEJ arrested on February 9 2017, in connection with the ongoing 'anglophone crisis' have been charged with 'promotion of terrorism' by the Yaounde Military Court.
Atia was taken to court from his prison cell in Kondengui on Friday July 14 2017 in handcuffs, where he learned of the allegations levied against him by the government.
Atia Tilarius was arrested alongside Amos Fofung of the 'Guardian newspaper' and Mofor Ndong of the 'Voice of the Voiceless newspaper'.
While Attia is being charge with 'promotion of terrorism', Amos did not appear in court, and rumours has it that he is half way to freedom, and Ndong who was also present in the Military Court still do not know why he is being locked up as details of his charges are still not clear.
This trio are just the smallest fraction of the close to 100 Cameroonian journalists arrested in connection with the anglophone crisis, and who are helplessly languishing in jail.
