Cameroon's Honorary Consul to Montreal-Canada Turkish Yasin Jason Erdem is reported to have pleaded guilty of 'Tax Fraud' charges levied against him by a Canadian court.
Appearing before the Canadian court Yasin Erdem acknowledged that he was guilty, and participated in the charges for which he and Jason INC, a furniture company are being accused of.
Reporting this scandal on his Facebook page, Boris Bertolt, France based Cameroonian Investigative journalists say Yasin Erdin admitted that he failed to pay the sum of 1 182 479 $ (650 millions FCFA) corresponding to Goods and Services Tax(GST) and Quebec Sales Tax(QST), to the taxation authorities, an act which the judge qualified as intentional .
The Judge Pierre E. Labelle, sanctioned him to pay a fine of 901 988 $, equivalent to (586 millions F CFA), for the count of failure to pay TGS, and gave a probation order including other punishments, to carry out 160 hours of Community Services with instructions that the fine MUST be paid within 12 months of the pronouncement of the sanction.
According to Boris, this Canadian of Turkish Nationality is implicated in other embezzlement scandals, alongside Top Cameroonian Barons, who introduced him to the First Lady Chantal Biya, and who through her, he got appointed Cameroon's Honorary Consul to Montreal.
