Bishops of Cameroon have condemned the brutal killing of His Lordship Jean Marie Benoit Bala, and say the government should do everything possible to bring the culprits to justice.
They also asked the government to take its responsibility seriously by securing the lives of its citizens and clergy men in particular.
Meeting in the Headquarters of Mvolye Yaounde during the Episcopal Conference yesterday June 13th 2017, the Bishops ruled that His Lordship Jean Marie Benoit Bala was murdered and expressed fear that Catholic church was sailing through hot waters at the moment, and was under persecution.
They affirmed that the Bishop was truly murdered and said there hasn't been any elucidation about his murder till date.They asked that the government should do all it takes so as to bring lights on the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Bishops, led by the Archbishop of the Douala Metropolitan Samuel Kleda called on the Press and Social Media activists to be assiduous in the execution of their duties, while being careful, avoiding defamation, lies telling and the non respect of human dignity.
They thanked those who mobilized for the search of the Bishop, especially the people of Ebebda.
To the Christians of the Bafia Diocese, the faithfuls and the natural family members of the late Prelate, the Bishops urged them to be courageous, and to have faith in God during this period, as Christ has conquered the world.
