Stephane Mbia has opened up on Hugo Bross's decision to sideline him from the National Team but says he can't tell what went wrong in all the fake allegations about his fight with Clinton Njie, the withdrawal of his Captainship, his relationship with Head Coach Hugo Broos and his alleged clash with Vincent Aboubakar.
In an interview SFR Sport's programme 'Le Vestiaire', of Tuesday May 16 2017 where he was a guest the former Indomitable Lions Captain who presently plays with Hebei China Fortuna in China says 'it was after the home played match with South Africa on the 26 of March 2016 in Limbe, that he was put on the reserve bench till date'.
'The Head Coach informed me on the eve of the match during training that I will be replaced. Honestly, I accepted his decision in all tranquility, and assured him that he could count on me, whenever need be. But Since then, he has never ever called me up for any line up'. Stephan Mbia disclosed.
Nothing happened between me and Vincent Aboubakar
Talking about his fight with Aboubakar in the dressing room, Mbia said: 'After the match in Limbe against South Africa, during the 2017 Gabon AFCON, many media houses reported that Aboubakar and I had a clash in the dressing room'.
He rubbished this information and said 'On the contrary, I wish to assure you that it was a big lie. Nothing happened between Aboubakar and myself. We understand each other perfectly well. You should know that many people like to joke with public opinion. They base on lies to make noise'.
Stephane Mbia Frowns At the Press
He further accused the press for publishing false information again about him and Clinton Njie. 'They wrote that during the just ended 2017 Gabon AFCON, I picked up a fight with Clinton Njie which is not true. Every day after the match, players came into my room, and while we were joking, they wanted to know why the press relayed that I had a feud with Abou'.
Hugo Broos and Stephane Mbia are 'Great Friends'
Contrary to what the public thinks that Mbia and Head Coach Broos are enemies, Stephane Mbia surprisingly revealed that 'he and Broos had a great relationship'. 'During the 2017 Gabon AFCON, we were calling each other and Broos was asking me some question'.
Concluding his interview with 'SFR Sports' the striker said his best professional moments were that which he spent with his former Club Olympique de Marseille. He said if they were to call hom back, he will run up to them without hesitation.
