President Biya Absent From Mother In-law's Funeral Celebration, Sends Bidoung Mpkatt To Represent Him

Mme Chantal Biya and her maternal family will be hosting the traditional funeral celebration of their late mother Mme Rosette Mboutchouang this weekend in Bangou Village of the Western Region of Cameroon.

Noted for his absence during funerals of his loved ones, President Paul Biya, bonafide son in-law of the defunct Mme Mboutchouang has assigned his most Respectful Minister, Pierre Ismael Bidoung Mpkatt, to personally represent him to this occasion.

Bidoung Mpkatt who has been accompanying the Indomitable Lions in their Nationwide Trophy presentation tour since February 21st, left Buea yesterday February 24th, after the said tour in the South West Regional Capital of Buea, delegating Governor Okalia Bilia to sit in for him during the 22nd Edition Mount Cameroon Race of Hope taking place today in Buea.

Mme Ndongo Mengolo Rosette Epouse Mboutchouang, mother of Cameroon's First Lady died on the 2nd of Oct. 2014 in a South African Hospital after a protracted illness.

Contrary to the tradition of the people of the Western Region where a woman is supposed to be buried  in her husband's village, her body was instead laid to rest in Mvomeka, the most respectful town of the Southern Region of Cameroon, where her son in-law Paul Biya was born.
