Schools Remain Closed in the Anglophone Regions

Despite repeated calls by the government for children and teachers in anglophone regions to return to school and the reassurances that safety of the students, teachers and pupils will be guaranteed, school resumption is still not effective in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.

In Bamenda, Buea, Limbe, Kumba and villages, streets are empty, vehicles are not circulating and not even a single uniform has been seen on the street.

Heavy military deployment on major streets has also been reported.

This is the third week of second term of the 2016/2017 school year and academic plus other activities are still grounded in English speaking regions of Cameroon.
