The Minister of Communication informs the national and international public that, while government was engaging in dialogue to look for solutions to the grievances of the Teachers and Lawyers of the North West and South West Regions, extremists called for a ghost town, and organised in this framework and on others occasions, violence various abuses on citizens and their properties. They equally attacked the forces of law and order, as well as public buildings.

Some of them are from the Southern Cameroons National Council (SCNC) and of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society (Consortium), associations illegally operating, and of which their voidness was found in a decree from the Minister of Territorial Administration and decentralization, at the same time, their activities were strictly suspended.

Following the judicial investigation opened to establish the cases of these abuses, that caused huge human and material losses, the following people were arrested and handed over to justice; FONTEM AFORTEKA'A  NEBA and NKONGHO Felix AGBOR BALLA. Others are still being fished out for the same reason.

Needless to say they will all benefit from legal guarantees for a fair hearing.

The government is bent on using all the necessary measures to ensure that peace, public security, national unity and territorial integrity is preserved. They call on all students, teachers, and economic operators, to peacefully go about with their businesses.
