MTN Cameroon's CEO apologies and clarifies the reason for network outage in West Cameroon over the last weekend

A call for boycott of the MTN network has been trending online, and MTN Cameroon recorded as an enemy in the Anglophone fight for freedom since last weekend, when frustrated customers in and around the North West Region were experiencing voice and data unavailability, in the heat of the military/civilian confrontation, that saw the killing of some youths, destruction of government properties and the arrest of some 70 strike activists.

The population thinks and believes MTN connived with the government to cut Bamenda off from the rest of the world, with the intention of  keeping social medial far from the bloody events that was happening.

Well we want to believe with this communique, that the act was unintentional and that it was just an unfortunate coincidence that happened during that period of unrest.
