Hon. Justice Ayah Paul Abine says he is stepping out of the anglophone fight, so that the anglophone endeavour may succeed.

His decision to step aside comes after many criticized his decision to build up a list of Anglophone leaders, to spearhead the community in any dialogue with the government.

Some say reasons why Justice Ayah's proposed list was criticized were as follows:

  • That the proposed list seemed to breed division and   diversion, since there was a newly formed consortium  already.
  • That the initial proposed list was non-inclusive for it blatantly ignored youths and your fellow politicians who went out to march for the cause.
  •  That there was no ideological platform binding those on the proposed list: while some were apparently for appeasement, some for federation, some for decentralisation, some for secession, others were yet to  voice out their position.
  • That majority of those proposed were apparently not appropriately  consulted.
  • That Justice Ayah gave himself the prerogative of distributing executive functions of the group, which in itself appeared very undemocratic.

Hon. Justice Ayah made his resignation known to the public in a post on his Facebook wall.
