Anglophone crisis - South African Court finally grant Cameroonians permission to protest in front of their Embassy

Protesting Cameroonians in South Africa

The South African court have finally granted Cameroonians the permission to stage a protest march in front of their Embassy in Pretoria, following a prior refusal by embassy officials.

According to one of the organisers of the protest, on Dec 13 Cameroonians were informed that the embassy through one of its officials Mr Fotabong had allegedly influenced the South African police not to allow the protest take place.

With this information, Cameroonians in South Africa took the Cameroon High Commission to the Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg to obtain a court interdict that overturns the gesticulations of the embassy officials.

Finally the court saw that their protest is genuine, and therefore have given them the go ahead to carry on.

We shall be bringing you images of this protest march as soon as they are available.
