Russia 2018 World Cup Eliminatories - Cameroon ends a frustrating 1-1 draw with Zambia

The Indomitable Lions

The long awaited and most talked about match between the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and the Chipolopolos of Zambia is now history, as thousands of spectators and supporters ticked their names in the annals of the Limbe - Ngeme Omnisport Stadium today Nov. 12,  2016.

The match that kicked off at 4 p.m saw the Zambians trying to correct their mistakes on the Lions after Nigeria beat them in Zambia, to push them to the tail end of Group B. The Chipolopolos took revenge, pressed the Lions and defiled their net at the 35th minute through Mbesuna Collins, making the Lions sweat and beg for an equalizer.

The game changed, when an opportunity to score for the Lions was disturbed by a Zambian player, which gave a penalty in favour of Cameroonians. The penalty shooter Aboubakar Vincent successfully threw Zambian goalie to the left, and net a resounding shot for the Lions, bringing the score table to 1-1 at the end of the first half.

The second half started with the Lions mounting pressures, and proving their ownership and superiority over their adversaries, while missing golden opportunities to raise the Green,  Red,  Yellow flag higher.

The match which was interrupted severally due to series of foul plays that saw the Zambian goalie frightfully crawled on the ground for almost three minutes before standing up to his feet, with another being carried out of the field, ended on a draw, when almost half of the supporters had disappointedly left the stadium.

What a disappointing birthday gift for Team Captain Benjamin Moukandjo who lights a candle today as he clocks?????27?. What ever the real age is, we of HTL wish you 'A very  Happy Birthday Capi'.
