Cameroon - National Assembly - Cavaye Yeguie Djibril declares war on Social Media

Cavaye Yeguie Djibril Speaker of the National Assembly

As reported some few weeks back, Social Media might be banned in Cameroon. During his opening speech yesterday Nov. 10, Speaker of the National Assembly  Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril said: "Social Media is as dangerous as a missile launched from no where. It is time to organise the hunt and get rid of the traitors of the cyberspace".

Cavaye said Social Media is a new form of terrorism, and that  government will not allow it to destroy Cameroon.

While awaiting the Members of Parliament to debate and conclude on this, Cameroonians have highly criticized government's intention, saying it is irresponsible. According to Cameroonians Social Media is a great resource for exposing all the hidden skeletons in the government, reason why they want to ban it to leave Cameroonians in the dark and manipulate them as they want.

This comes to confirm 'President Biya's shyness from the media' as reported by Jeune Afrique recently. But what about the people?
