Cameroon - Minister Gregoire Owona's public absence suspiciously attributed to ill health

Minister Gregoire Owona

Reports say Minister Gregoire Owona of Labour and Social Security, who is also the Assistant Secretary General of the CPDM Central Committee has evacuated himself abroad for medical intervention.

"Le Messager Newspaper" of Monday October 31st reporting the story says Minister Owona has disappeared from the public scene for more than three months now, and he has neither been seen anywhere around his office nor around his resident on the hills of Mont Mbankolo in Yaounde.

"The Minister is not around" is the answer one gets from his protocol agents, without any further explanation. Reports the paper.  Everyone in his environment is afraid to say a word, even those who work at the CPDM head quarters around the Yaounde Municipal Lake seems not to know where Minister Owona is hiding.

Minister Owona was lastly seen in public during the 2016 Olympic Season, and despite all the heated events and serial incidents exposing Cameroon to the world, nothing has been seen or heard about him.

A Security Guard in his resident however confided to someone that the Minister took seriously ill, and personally evacuated himself to save his life from the dilapidated medical structures and equipment of Cameroon.
