Bird Flu returns in Cameroon - Gabon bans the importation of chicken and components from Caameroon

Following the recent discovery of an epidemie of bird flu that killed 15000 chickens in a poultry at the Mvog Betsi neighbourhood in Yaounde, Gabon one of Cameroon's boundary neighours has decided to ban the importation of chicken and pork from Cameroon.

A communiqué signed by Gabon's Agriculture Minister Ali Ben Bongo to this respect forbids the importation of chicken, chicks of one day old, eggs,  wild birds and pork meat from all angles of Cameroon, and calls on strict security measures to be applied on all boundaries with Cameroon.

Is this a replay of the 2006 scenario of Grippe Aviare?
